KOGAS
The gas corporation supply management office lowers the natural gas sent from the production base at high pressure to low pressure. The natural gas temperature lowered in the decompression process is heated through a heater and then supplied to the consumer.
In the past, energy due to the pressure difference was wasted during decompression(60 barg -> 8.5 barg). However, KOGAS is conducting research on 'reduced pressure power generation' that uses reduced pressure energy to produce electricity, In addition, with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Trigen-fuel cells (electricity, heat, and hydrogen production), contributes to the temperature rise of natural gas and produces electricity and hydrogen to operate a complex energy hub including a hydrogen filling station., is in progress. Through research projects, we aim to improve the efficiency of unused energy and contribute to the national renewable energy policy and supply of hydrogen charging stations.
