KOGAS has laid the institutional foundation for building hydrogen infrastructure by amending the Korea Gas Corporation Act to specify the hydrogen industry as a target business, and to operate a hydrogen committee and hydrogen business office.
While establishing the ‘Hydrogen Business Promotion Roadmap’ in April 2019 to actualize the company’s plans to lead the hydrogen economy, KOGAS was designated in 2020 as Korea’s exclusive hydrogen distributor, so it is at the core of the Korean hydrogen economy, in charge of production, supply, and technology development.
