KOGAS aims to provide stable and safe supply of clean and convenient natural gas to the people of Korea throughout the nation. For this purpose, the Corporation has established plans to expand the existing distribution of natural gas in order to reach additional 4,300,000 households in about 40 different regions by 2013. At the same time, the Corporation is focusing on the establishment and operation of its advanced safety system, reduction in the cost of importation and wholesale expenditures, and continuous expansion of storage facilities for stabilized supply.

KOGAS business is founded on the acquisition of stable long term supply of natural gas. For this purposed, the Corporation is focusing on importation of LNG and investment into existing LNG businesses as well as accelerating the import time schedule for the Russian PNG. Furthermore, the Corporation is working to substantially empower its businesses, to optimize R&D on its core technologies and to expand its scope of businesses through exploration, development, and production of gas resources in preparation for the commercialization of the East Sea gas hydrate in the mid term, and importation of natural gas from the Arctic region in the long term.

KOGAS core capabilities are derived from the accumulated know-how on the design, construction, and operation of the LNG Terminal and distribution facilities as well as its professional human resources. With such foundation, the Corporation is pursuing the goal of becoming a leading global gas enterprise by expanding its scope of businesses to include not only the construction and operation of the overseas LNG terminals, LNG liquefaction plants and pipeline networks, but also marketing and trading of LNG
